Best New Slot Game Releases May 2019

May started off with some beautiful weather in the UK as well as the first of two bank holidays this month. To keep the good vibes going, here’s a list of the newest slot titles available this month.

Play ‘n Go

Cops ‘n Robbers 2018 – 10th May

One can argue that revamping an old title is a lazy way to go about releasing a ‘new’ slot title but this one title from Play ‘n Go is getting a complete revamp.

The first iteration was released back in 2012 and this month, an overhauled version is on the cards. The theme will be familiar to players who tried the first game but the overall feel and appearance of the game is set to change drastically. Updated graphics and new music will certainly boost this title’s visibility.

Poke the Guy – 31st May

Does anyone remember Shin Chan? That naughty little boy depicted in the manga cartoon back in the day? That’s what first came to mind when we saw the promo material for Poke the Guy.

Microgaming’s tagline for this game is ‘Simple, Stupid Fun’ and we can really get behind that. Sometimes, all you need is a silly little game to make you laugh and help you relax. It doesn’t always have to be about cut-throat competition.

The protagonist is ‘The Guy’, a lumbering giant wreaking havoc across the game map. Line up the slingshot and make a bet – if you hit the big fella, you’ll get a random payout!

Sure, this game stretches the concept of a slot game to some degree but it looks like a whole lot of fun so who are we to judge?

Vikings go to Hell – 24th May

That’s not a crude suggestion but the title of Yggdrasil’s latest offering. Presented at ICE back in February, we’ve been waiting with bated breath to see what this young game provider would regale us with. It seems it was worth the wait.

The teaser trailer doesn’t reveal all that much about the slot mechanics per se but it certainly shows off Yggdrasil’s design and animation chops. The video wouldn’t look out of place in a Lord of the Rings movie or maybe as a preview of the next season of Game of Thrones. This game is going to be wild!

Booming Games

Boomerang Bonanza – 2nd May

This 4×4 layout slot brings us a bonza theme from Down Under! It’s not every day that Australia and its culture feature in slot games and maybe it’s about time that changes.

Bounce around with some exuberant kangaroos and trigger free spins in this slot by Booming Games. There’s also a feature called Bonus Rotation to discover and with a name like that, we’re eager to get started!

Golden Royals – 15th May

It’s been all about the Royals this past couple of weeks, what with the birth of the youngest member Prince Louis dominating the headlines.

But Booming Games couldn’t have known about that when they announced Golden Royals in February so it seems serendipitous that this game should arrive now. Celebrate royalty and all its trappings with this 5×3 game that’s bursting with features. Free spins, Scatters, random multiplying wilds, Four Corner Pay – we can barely keep up!

Red Tiger

The 100k Drop – 30th May

With a name like that, you can be sure plenty of players are going to be interested! It’s not just lip service though – you can win up to 2000x your wager on this game.

Set in a game show format, players can spin the 5×3 reels, packed with bundles of banknotes and briefcases full of cash, with the hopes of hitting a Bonus symbol to boost your play.

Step into the world of TV game show entertainment and try you luck at winning that massive payout. Not everyone can get on to ‘Who Wants to be a Millionaire?’ but this might just do the trick instead!

ELK Studios

Birthday – 23rd May

If your birthday is in May, this one’s for you. If it’s not but you enjoy exciting slot games with festive themes, this one’s for you too! ELK Studios bring us Birthday, which takes place (perhaps unsurprisingly) at a birthday party being held in a swanky New York bar.

Party balloons, cake, cocktails and roses enhance the atmosphere by appearing on the reels and a host of respins opportunities, sticky wilds and walking wilds add a little excitement to the proceedings.
