RGA introduces GAMSTOP website

The Remote Gambling Association have introduced GAMSTOP, a website that allows players to self-exclude from all UKGC-licensed online casinos.

The site is expected to launch by the end of this year and reflects the proactive approach taken by regulators in an effort to curb problem gambling.

GAMSTOP will let players suspend all their accounts with any casinos licensed by the UKGC, making the self-exclusion process that much faster and more efficient. Signing up with GAMSTOP means that any account linked to that specific email address will no longer be active, no matter the casino, and the player cannot create new casino accounts elsewhere with that same address.

The UKGC welcomed the initiative, saying that this would be a helpful tool for players struggling with gambling responsibly online.

Casino owner eyes Osaka for first Japanese resort

Last year, the Japanese government voted in favour of allowing land-based casinos to begin operating in the country. While the supporting legislation still have a long way to go, casino operators are already considering their options.

Melco Resorts & Entertainment owner Lawrence Ho has expressed his hopes that Osaka would be the first place to gain a license. He cites many reasons for this, namely that the capital, Tokyo, would pose a number of challenges, not least because it would be difficult to find room for such a large project in the bustling, crowded city.

Ho also said that opening a casino in Osaka would give the city the boost it needed in terms of investment and tourism. Expansion is also easier there and Ho feels that its established popularity with Chinese tourists can only serve to help.

Casumo remains a steadfast player in the online casino industry, offering users an excellent (and growing) selection of games, first-class customer service and a website that’s a dream to use.

A mum from Milton Keynes struck it big last week, when she wagered 25p on the Gladiator jackpot at BGO.

This is the mobile game’s second largest payout to date, following the £1.63 million jackpot won last year.
